How Police Paymaster Was Found Dead in Ekiti After Being Whisked Away by Unknown Men

The family of a senior police officer has been put through a most tortuous and horrific experience after the officer was whisked away to the unknown by unidentified men.

Mr. Idowu Taiwo, the paymaster of the Ekiti State Police Command and a Superintendent of Police, was, yesterday, found dead.
 
The man had been kidnapped on Sunday night by unknown gunmen.
 
Taiwo was reported to have been found dead in a car in Ado Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital, yesterday by detectives, who were on the trail of the kidnappers of the Officer in Charge of Finance, fondly called OC MSS.
 
Sources claimed that he was at a joint within the vicinity of Ologede Police Station located in Ajilosun area of the state capital, when the yet-to-be identified men arrived at the place and forcefully bundled him into their car and whisked him away to unknown destination.
 
The sources added that Taiwo was not found until yesterday, when he was discovered dead, with his hands in handcuffs.
 
The Police Public Relations Officer of Ekiti Command, Mr. Alberto Adeyemi, confirmed the incident in a telephone interview, saying “it is true. They abandoned his body in a car in Ajebamidele area of the town. Investigations have begun to arrest the perpetrators, but no arrest has been made yet.”
