A judge has thrown a doctor who is a sexual pervert into prison after he r*ped his patients at numerous occasions.
Doctor Michael Lever has been caged for life
A doctor put a pillowcase over his victim’s head to stop her screams from being heard, while he raped her, Metro reports.
The doctor identified as 47-year-old Michael Lever has been jailed for abusing two women on over a period of 20 years on Thursday. He was jailed for life. During the hearing at Edinburgh, one of the victims said he put a pillowcase over her face and ignored her screams while the ordeal lasted.
The brutalised victim was later found in a wardrobe with her hands tied to the back n*ked. Another of his victims said, the doctor put drugs into her drink that made her sleep, although she initially found him attractive.
The victim told the court, “When I woke up, it was the next day. I was naked and propped up against a sofa.” The judge imposed an Order for Lifelong Restriction and said he must serve a minimum four and a half years in jail.
The judge told Lever: 'You have been described as controlling, abusive as well as sexually and physically violent.
'From the material I have read, you seem to have little understanding of the impact of your behaviour. You seem also to minimise it.'
She concluded she was satisfied Lever was a 'high risk offender'.
Lever, who has since been struck off the General Medical Council, insisted the women agreed to having s*x with him. He was previously jailed for 15 months in 2013 after being found guilty of attacking members of his family.
He choked his wife while she was pregnant at a hospital accommodation in Carluke, Lanarkshire, in 1997 and 1998 and was convicted of attacking her son between July 2001 and March 2004 and his 16-year-old daughter between 2008 and 2010.
